StoreFront 7 Updates
Service Pack 1 Released 02/15/2008
Service Pack 1 for StoreFront 7 is now available bringing the version number for StoreFront 7 to 7.1.
This Service Pack contains several significant enhancements as well as some important updates and fixes.
Microsoft .NET Framework Version 2.0
The .NET Framework version 2.0 improves scalability and performance of applications with improved caching,
application deployment and updating with ClickOnce, support for the broadest array of browsers and devices with ASP.NET 2.0
controls and services.
MS SQL 2005
StoreFront 7 requires a MS SQL database and some users have reported their hosting environment does not support MS SQL 2000
or they need to run a local installation of MS SQL. Extensive testing has been completed by the LaGarde QA team to ensure
StoreFront will run successfully on MS SQL 2005 and no functionality is lost. StoreFront 7.1 is the first release of
StoreFront to officially support MS SQL 2005.
Google Analytics
Google Analytics is a free service that offers users tracking for up to 5 million page views a month.
If your site generates more than 5 million page views per month, you will need to link it to an active Ad Words account in
order to avoid interruption of your Google Analytics service. Google Analytics currently defines an active Ad Words account
as an account that has at least one active and running Campaign, with a minimum budget of $1 per day.
To turn on Google Analytics in StoreFront, you simply enter your Google Account ID, which is supplied by Google.
URL Rewriter
URL Rewriter AUTOMATICALLY changes the URLs from dynamic to static and includes their product and or category name in the
URL for improved search-engine optimization efforts. Users should be advised against making changes in the URL
rewriting tool without knowledge of search engines as their site can adversely be impacted.
Theme Updates
Theme style sheets have been updated to support more dynamic content and to limit the areas where dynamic content may be
added by theme. Two themes have been removed from selection, but are still available to merchants already using them.
They were removed because they proved to be too inflexible for general use.
Related Items
Related items are now displayed in a horizontal bar at the bottom of the detail page.
This allows the customer to view more related items on the screen in less space and allow for horizontal scrolling.
Merchant Tools Navigational Menu
A few basic changes to the layout of the merchant tools navigation have been made for enhanced usability.
Link to Store Activation
A new link has been created for store activation to replace previous functionality accessed through the FrontPage or DreamWeaver plug-in.
Improved Debugging for Support
Additional logging has been added to catch exceptions that occur while the application is loading (resulting in a
configuration error) or while executing a search (resulting in no products returning). The StoreFront Logging setting in
the web.config file must be set to true for these exceptions to be logged to the sflog.config file.
The function to drop and restore the stored procedures has been moved to the DBUpdate.xml file from SF7.sql file.
This allows the stored procedure to be recreated without adverse changes to the database file.

A number of important fixes and updates have been included in the Service Pack. These are, for the most part, fairly minor
